MARCO BARONE
Born in Turin, Italy, Marco began his classical and contemporary dance studies at the "Studio Danza Narcisa" in 2004, under the guidance of Narcisa Spada. He studied classical technique with Narcisa Spada, Federica Costanza, and modern technique with Giovanna Valerio, Cristina Ruberto, Antonio Della Monica, Cristina Golin. He deepened his studies by participating in international internships and programs in Italy and abroad: • in the summer of 2008 he took part in the "PERFORMING IN NEW YORK" program at the Ajkun Ballet of New York, under the artistic direction of Chiara Ajkun and Leonard Ajkun. • In the summer of 2012 he won a scholarship to the ALVIN AILEY SCHOOL of New York, where he studied classical technique, horton technique, graham technique and jazz. • In the summer of 2016 he was back in New York to study in some of the most accredited schools worldwide. As a dancer, he was the winner of numerous scholarships for professional centers in Italy and abroad and of National and International competitions. Between 2009 and 2012 he was dancing with various Italian
companies: • ENSEMBLE THEATER Company of Turin directed by Gianmaria Vendittelli and Annalisa Pautassos. • BTT BALLET THEATER OF TURIN directed by Loredana Furno, in a production of Cristina Golin. • EFFEMME company, in a production by Lara Terzuolo. • Dance Time Company, artistic direction Alessio De Giulli. • Stable operetta company Alpha Folies – Teatro Alfa in Turin. AS A CHOREOGRAPHER AND TEACHER His first choreographic work "Alterego", pas de deux of which he is the creator and dancer, got invited to the international dance festival LE TRANSFRONTALIER, in Luxembourg in 2010. The pas de deux "Io e te non più", also earned him the medal of bronze as choreographer at the first World Championship of dance in Castiglioncello in 2011. In the same year, he founded the emerging dance company N.R.D. NOT REAL DANCERS - Cultural Association. In April 2012 the company debuted with its first show “TRUMAN, il viaggio a metà". Between 2011 and 2018, the group was awarded in various national and international competitions and was guesting at festivals and events in the Piedmont area: GRUGLIASCO IN DANCE Festival - Grugliasco; DANCE EMERGENCY Festival – Rivoli; R_E_D_ Festival – Steam Laundry (Collegno). In January 2018 the Company was selected for the final phase of the MICC International Competition for choreographers in Milan, at Teatro Elfo Puccini. In July of the same year the show "Gesto" debuted at the PINEROLO FESTIVAL at Teatro Sociale di Pinerolo following the prize won in January of the same year at the international competition WEEKEND ON STAGE in the emerging companies section. In 2018 and 2019 Marco choreographed for some students of the WIENER STAATSOPER BALLATTAKADEMIE of Vienna, which were awarded in various international competitions. In 2019 he was chosen as emerging choreographer by Pompea Santoro and Paolo Mohovic for the MADE4YOU show as part of the TPE theater season at the Astra Theater in Turin. The INCIPIT creation, danced by the young EKO DANCE PROJECT company, was also performed on the occasion of the World Dance Day. In the same year he was a guest choreographer for the professional project OLIVA CONTEMPORARY DANCE PROJECT in Verona. In 2022 he choreographed once more for the EKO DANCE PROJECT company. He began teaching at STUDIO DANZA NARCISA during the 2011-2012 season. He teaches modern and contemporary technique for amateur, intermediate and advanced courses. Marco is an appreciated teacher in various realities of the Piedmont area. He constantly creates various choreographies for his students that participate in numerous national and international competitions, achieving many prestigious awards.
