Katalin Lőrinc (1957 Budapest) graduated as classical ballerina; in 1977 she turned to contemporary dance and went to study Graham-technique at Maurice Béjart’s Mudra in Brussels (B) and then in London School of Contemporary Dance (UK). Meanwhile she was soloist of Cullberg Ballet in Sweden, then a member of Pécsi Balett (H), and latter at Tanztheater Wien (A). From the 90’s she became independent teacher / choreographer, and started to take part in theoretical activities too (from 1997 as a journalist), already as a mother of 3 children, seattled in Budapest (H). In the 2000’s she returned to the stage as an independent performer.
She is member of professional organizations and advisory boards in Hungary. She is leading professor of Hungarian Dance University, teaches at Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy and gives masterclasses and workshops at important venues and festivals.
